House minority leader and Salt Lake City mayoral candidate Ralph Becker is hosting an evening of environmental awareness today, featuring a free screening of the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car?" at the Broadway Center Theatre.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with refreshments and socializing, followed by the film at 7 p.m.

Originally introduced at Sundance, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" investigates the quiet disappearance and destruction of highly efficient electric vehicles.

Becker will lead a discussion following the screening, providing an opportunity to talk about ways in which Salt Lake City can become a leading green city through innovative ideas and actions by the city and its residents.

The Broadway Center Theatre is at 111 E. 300 South.
