SAN DIEGO (AP) — Good omen for the Chargers? Every time new San Diego coach Norv Turner arrives somewhere, somebody's offensive stats explode.

• 2006 (Niners OC): Alex Smith passed for 2,890 yards and 16 TDs, an increase of 2,015 yards and 15 TDs over the previous year. Frank Gore rushed for 1,695 yards and scored eight times, an increase of 1,087 yards and 5 TDs.

• 2004 (Raiders HC): Kerry Collins passed for 3,495 yards and 21 TDs. Jerry Porter had 998 yards receiving and 9 TDs, and increase of 637 yards and 8 TDs.

• 2002 (Dolphins OC): Ricky Williams rushed for 1,853 yards rushing and 16 TDs, an increase of 608 yards and 10 scores.
