Next week the new classical music, jazz and dance seasons officially begin with performances by the Utah Symphony, the Utah Opera, Ballet West, Repertory Dance Theatre and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, JazzSLC series at the Sheraton City Centre, among others.

Highlights include Utah's own 5 Browns , returning for a concert in February, and Abravanel Hall hosting Dave Brubeck.

The Temple Square Assembly Hall and other LDS Church venues have a number of programs on tap, including China Central TV's Galaxy Children's Choir, and, of course, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert.

Other holiday events include "A Mariachi Christmas" and Odyssey Dance Theatre's "It's a Wonderful Life."

In addition to the professional companies, colleges and universities also have their seasons planned out.

In today's Deseret Morning News (calendar) is calendar of music and dance events scheduled along the Wasatch Front for the 2007-08 season.
