CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Despite suffering five concussions, Dan Morgan is risking his long-term health by coming back after not playing since the 2006 season opener.

"Nobody really knows how I feel," the Panther said.

"As far as people having doubts about me coming back, everybody's entitled to their opinion. We live in America."

His comeback coincides with increased scrutiny about long-term effects of multiple blows to the head. A recent study of retired NFL players concluded those that have sustained three or more concussions were three times more likely to have memory problems or chronic depression, and five times more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease.
