• Applications are now being accepted for the Utah State University master gardener program in Utah County and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. For more information, call 851-8460 or log on to extension.usu.edu/utah.

• Thanksgiving Point is offering several courses in September:

— Selecting the right plants for your landscape, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2-4 p.m. or 6-8 p.m. Cost is $40.

— Advanced landscape design, Sept. 11, 18 and 25, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The class is open to those who have completed a basic landscape design course. Cost is $40.

— Flower bed design, Sept. 11, 18 and 25, 1-3:30 p.m. or 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $40.

• The Gardening Mini Expo, which starts at 9 a.m. on Sept. 8 at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, will feature several classes on assorted subjects throughout the day.
