VOIGT REPEATS: Jens Voigt became the first rider to win consecutive Tour of Germany events Saturday, finishing 1 minute, 57 seconds ahead of American rider and former Utah resident Levi Leipheimer of the Discovery Channel.

The 35-year-old German, who rides for the CSC team, won Friday's time trial to make the ninth and final 89-mile stage from Einbeck to Hanover a formality.

Gerald Ciolek, a German rider with T-Mobile, won the final sprint Saturday for his third stage victory.

ADU SITS: Freddy Adu's league debut in Europe will have to wait.

The teenage American soccer star was rested for his Portuguese team's first league game, a 1-1 tie for Benfica against Leixoes on Saturday night.

Adu already played for Benfica when he came on as a substitute in a 2-1 win over FC Copenhagen in a Champions League qualifier Tuesday.

The 18-year-old Adu joined the high-profile Portuguese team from Real Salt Lake on July 31 after agreeing to a $1.5 million transfer fee with Major League Soccer.

HENIN ADVANCES: Justine Henin is feeling good about herself again.

The top-ranked player in the world ended the surprising run of qualifier Yan Zi 6-3, 6-0 in the Rogers Cup semifinals Saturday.

Henin, in her first appearance since being eliminated in the semifinals at Wimbledon, is using the Rogers Cup as a final tuneup for the U.S. Open — and perhaps some redemption for her disappointing performance at the All England Club.

Yan, ranked 169th from China, was the first qualifier to reach the semifinals at the tournament in 11 years.

"It was a very, very nice week," the 22-year-old said.

Henin will face No. 2 seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia, who defeated 12th-seeded Tatiana Golovin of France, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 in the late semifinal. Henin has won all six meetings against Jankovic, the most recent in the French Open semifinals.
