Winners of the 2007 Utah State Fair music competition have been announced.
Cash awards and ribbons are presented to first-, second- and third-place winners in each category. Winners are given an opportunity to audition to perform with the Utah Symphony in its "Salute to Youth" fall concert and its All-Star Evening in May.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend the winners' recitals as part of the many activities offered this year at the Utah State Fair, 155 N. 1000 West
A different group will perform at each of the four scheduled recitals. Performances are set for 7 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Fairpark's Pioneer Building. Two more recitals are set for 7 and 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in the same building.
