Blood donors are needed today to assist injured miners who are being treated at Salt Lake hospitals.

ARUP Blood Services said late Thursday that its blood supply is at a very low level. A large number of donors is needed, according to an ARUP statement.

ARUP Blood Services has two locations: 500 Chipeta Way in the University of Utah Research Park, Salt Lake City, and at 5201 S. Green St., Murray.

The locations will open at 8 a.m. today.
