ST. GEORGE Police said they are trying to make a dent in a rising number of car crashes here by cracking down on the causes of auto accidents.
They're going after unsafe drivers.
The traffic crackdown is expected to last at least a month, St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding said Wednesday.
"We'll be watching intersections, watching for improper turns in the wrong lanes, following too close, failure to yield," Harding said.
Motorcycle and traffic cops will stop cars and either give the drivers a warning or a ticket, urging them to be more careful and avoid crashes. The areas being focused on this week are along Bluff Street, River Road and St. George Boulevard.
