Jonathan Whitney points out that the LDS Church pamphlet regarding homosexuality says, "As you show love and kindness to others, you give them an opportunity to change their attitudes and follow Christ more fully." It always amazes me what attitudes and behavior some people consider to be "tolerant and loving." If I were to strike Whitney repeatedly with a baseball bat and say "I love you" with each blow, how precious would he feel? I imagine gays feel the same way when they are treated with this brand of love and tolerance. I wouldn't ask Whitney to go through life without experiencing sexual love, and I wouldn't expect it of a gay friend either.
