'Everest Evening' Aug. 9

A number of Mount Everest summits and the work of the high-altitude workers of Nepal will be celebrated at "An Everest Evening," Thursday, 6:30 p.m. at Snowbird's Cliff Lodge.

The Snowbird Renaissance Center and Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation will host a fund-raiser for the Khumbu Climbing School featuring world-renowned mountaineer Conrad Anker and several other Western and Sherpa summiters.

Guests will also see a film and slide presentation about the Khumbu Climbing School in the village of Phortse and Everest region of Nepal.
