HUNTSVILLE, Weber County Following several motorcycle crashes on one stretch of state Route 39, Weber County Sheriff's officers are pleading with recreational riders to use caution.
The most recent crash occurred Sunday afternoon when a 57-year-old man went off the road will traveling west in the Monte Cristo area near milepost 43. The area, said Weber County Sheriff' Sgt. Chad Barnett, is a hairpin turn that sees several crashes each summer.
In this case, the man only received scratches, though he was thrown from his bike and was not wearing safety equipment. But other accidents this season have been much worse, Barnett said.
"Slow down, enjoy the ride," Barnett said of the beautiful drive, which leads from Ogden, past Pineview Reservoir and over the Monte Cristo pass to Rich County. "Take your time, and just be aware of your surroundings."
