Police are investigating an auto vs. motorcycle accident that left one man dead Saturday.
Salt Lake City Police Lt. J.R. Nelson said a 65-year-old man on a motorcycle was traveling south on 700 East just after 11:30 a.m. When he approached the intersection at 800 South, an SUV heading west ran a red light and hit the bike.
The 23-year-old female driver of the SUV was not injured, Nelson said. Police were investigating what prompted her to run the light.
The man was taken to LDS Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man's name is being withheld until relatives are notified.
