Size: 16 members, including one non-voting member

Term limits: Two-year terms, with a limit of three consecutive terms

Appointment process: Selected by the mayors and commissioners of the county they live in

Board make-up: Current and former lawmakers and local officials, business men and women, educators

Meetings: One board meeting a month, and at least two committee meetings
