The Salt Lake Bees didn't end their five-game losing streak on Wednesday night at Franklin Covey Field.
But at least they didn't extend it, either.
And they moved into a first-place tie in their division.
For the first time all season, a Bees home game was postponed due to rain. Salt Lake and the Omaha Royals will instead play a doubleheader today beginning at 5 p.m.
Before Wednesday night, the Bees had been on a remarkable streak of good baseball-playing weather at home. They were one of just three teams in the Pacific Coast League to not have had a rainout this season the others being Memphis and Las Vegas. This season was the first time in franchise history dating back to triple-A baseball returning to Salt Lake in 1994 that the team hadn't had a home game postponed in April, May or June.
The Bees, 53-51 on the season, will look to get back into the win column today. Despite not playing on Wednesday, Salt Lake moved into a tie with Colorado Springs for first place in the PCL's Pacific Northern Division due to the Sky Sox loss to the Iowa Cubs on Wednesday.
