Police shut down all I-15 southbound lanes in Lindon on Tuesday when a semitrailer truck dropped a backhoe on the freeway.
Police said the truck was hauling the backhoe around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday when the backhoe failed to clear the overpass at Exit 276 and fell onto the freeway.
Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Preston Raben said several cars hit the backhoe. One woman was rushed to Timpanogos Hospital. He said she is listed in poor condition.
Police closed the southbound lanes for an hour while crews removed the backhoe.
