Your article "Mythbusters" about the disparity between east- and west-side schools showed that the most important problems aren't myths at all. West-side students attend more crowded schools, have fewer options for advanced classes and take classes from teachers with lower qualifications and experience.
The districts have been making the same excuses for years as problems have grown worse, not better. This is yet another demonstration of the need to give parents more choice, more freedom to shop around, including vouchers.
