As a resident of Riverton, I am delighted with the concept of a Riverton precinct. I moved to Riverton specifically because the sheriff's office was the law enforcement agency. With the creation of the precinct and increasing the number of deputies assigned, we will have the best of both worlds. The new sheriff has demonstrated his eagerness to give the contract cities a "seat at the table."
Bluffdale needs to step up and contract for more deputies instead of relying on the kindness of neighboring cities. Look out, Herriman, Bluffdale is stealing your services.
