Highland Fling will offer plenty of fun

• Children's Fishing Derby, for children up to 13. 6 a.m.-noon at the Highland Glen Park, 10189 N. 4800 West. Free.

• Lone Peak High School Marching Band Yard Sale, 7-10 p.m. at Heritage Park, 5381 W. 10400 North.

• Baby contest, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Highland City Building, second floor, 5378 W. 10400 North. $10 preregistration online at www.highlandcity.org or at the city office. No registration day of the event.

• "Guys and Dolls" at 7 p.m. at American Fork High School auditorium, 510 N. 600 East. Cost: $8/$6 seniors, students; $25/ family. Purchase tickets at American Fork Historic City Hall, 454 N. Center, or at the Highland City offices, 5378 W. 10400 North, Kohler's at 5353 W. 11100 North, or at the door.

Aug. 1

• Youth Bike Race (for children up to 12) at 7 p.m. at Heritage Park Pavilion, 5381 W. 10400 North. $10 preregistration fee on the city Web site, www.highlandcity.org, or at the city offices.

Aug. 2

• Golf Tournament at 2 p.m. at the Thanksgiving Point golf course, 3300 W. Clubhouse Drive. This will be a four-man scramble. Dinner provided. Cost: $65/$260 per team.

• Play day rodeo events, 6 p.m. at the North Utah County Equestrian Center, 9370 N. 6800 West. Entry fees: $5 for each category entered/$15 for mutton bustin'.

• Fine Arts Show — awards and reception, 7 p.m. at Mountain Ridge Junior High, 5525 W. 10400 North. Free.

• Highland FlyFest with Marla "FlyLady" Cilley, 11 a.m. at Lone Peak High School, 10189 N. 4800 West. Free but tickets required. Donations accepted at the door.

• Fine Arts Show, 4-8 p.m. at the Highland City Building, second floor, 5378 W. 10400 North. Free.

• Highland Idol, 6-8 p.m. at the Heritage Park stage, 5381 W. 10400 North. Free.

• Junior Miss Pageant, 7 p.m. at Lone Peak High School, 10189 N. 4800 West. Cost: $6.
