PROVO — Police say a man smacked a fellow member of his church with a pistol during a visit to the man's home.

The 73-year-old man called his two LDS home teachers to visit with him at his Spanish Fork apartment Thursday evening, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.

After they arrived, the man then began to argue with one of the home teachers.

The argument became so heated that the man pulled out a large silver revolver and struck his home teacher in the face, according to the affidavit.

He also made threats to both men, who quickly left the apartment and called police.

Police arrested the man and booked him in the Utah County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault. He is being held on $5,000 cash or bond bail.
