6 cities plan truth-in-taxation meetings

Six Utah County cities will host truth-in-taxation meetings in August to receive feedback from residents on proposals to raise their tax rate. Here are some of the reasons for the tax increases:

• Alpine — Road overlay projects.

• Cedar Fort — Road maintenance and infrastructure improvements.

• Cedar Hills — To provide the same level of service to the city.

• Eagle Mountain — Adding additional police officers and fire personnel.

• Highland — To establish a city library.

• Woodland Hills — General fund.
