KSL in radio-ratings lead; percentages lower overall

4 stations see shares rise; local audience is diversifying

KSL is still in the front of the radio-ratings pack. No surprise there. However, it continues to be significant how much lower all the percentages are becoming over time.

Double-digit stations are unheard of in the age 12-plus ratings group. It's just tenths of a percentage that are separating many stations these days. The local radio audience is becoming more and more diverse.

KSL (AM-1160/FM-102.7) has a 7.6 percent share of the age 12-plus audience in part two of the "Spring Book" Arbitron ratings that were released Monday. That's down from 8.5 percent the previous month.

In fact, among the top 10 stations, only four increased their shares — KZHT, KDUT, KUUU and KJMY — vs. holding steady or decreasing.

KDUT, a regional Mexican music station at FM-102.3 on the dial, went up by 0.6 percent — the largest gain of any station.

KNRS (AM-570) continued to hold the No. 2 spot with a 5.3 percent share.

Tied for third are KRSP (FM-103.5), KSFI ("FM-100") and KUBL (FM-93.3) with a 4.9 share.

Rounding out the top 30 are:

6. KZHT (3.9)

7. KUUU (3.8)

8. (tie) KDUT, KJMY and KXRK (3.5)

11. KODJ (3.4)
