Weber State football coach Ron McBride was released from LDS Hospital on Wednesday after having a stent placed in an artery to relieve blockage.
McBride, 67, was taken to the hospital on Monday after complaining of feeling dizzy and weak during a golf outing at Jeremy Ranch in Park City at the Big Sky Conference football kickoff meetings. The former University of Utah coach has been told, according to WSU officials, to rest for several days before resuming his coaching duties with the Wildcats.
Entering his third season at Weber State, McBride had just returned to Utah from a long vacation to Hawaii when he complained of feeling ill. The hot conditions, travel and elevation change may have contributed to McBride's weakness. After being taken to the hospital for tests, an angiogram discovered the blocked artery and the stent was implanted.
The Wildcats open fall camp on August 3.
