State officials have suspended the license of a St. George auto dealer following customer complaints that they never received titles for their new cars.

Michael Caplin, the manager of Friendly Motors, also has been charged with one count of second-degree felony identity theft, according to the Utah State Tax Commission's Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division.

According to the division, additional charges could be forthcoming after an investigation revealed that Friendly Motors has sold at least 42 vehicles, valued at about $400,000, and has failed to deliver titles and registrations to the new owners.

The Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division is encouraging any potential victims to file a complaint against Friendly Motors by calling 801-297-2600.

Friendly Motors is located at 328 E. St. George Blvd. It has been in business since May 2003.
