Police in Murray and Midvale were looking for two men in connection with at least two computer store thefts.
Just after 1 a.m. Monday, Midvale police received calls almost simultaneously of a theft at Used Computer, 7045 S. State, and of a suspicious vehicle in front of Sportsman Warehouse, near 200 West 7000 South.
When officers arrived at Sportsman, two men on a bullet bike took off, said Midvale police detective Brian Holdaway.
During the chase, the men threw a duffle bag off the side of the freeway.
The men got away, but inside the duffle bag were stolen iPods and computers from the Midvale store, Holdaway said.
Back at the Sportsman parking lot, investigators found a truck and a large trailer hooked to it. Inside the trailer, computers taken from a Murray store, ExperCom, were found, he said.
Investigators believe the men were breaking into stores, stealing computer equipment and then riding back to the trailer on their motorcycle to store it.
The truck is registered to a Nevada resident, Holdaway said.
As of Monday afternoon, detectives had not been able to locate the Nevada man to question him about the truck.
