SkyWest Airlines reports jump in June statistics

St. George-based SkyWest Inc. on Monday reported a 14.5 percent increase in revenue passenger miles for June, while available seat miles increased 15.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

The company's two subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines, generated 1.63 billion revenue passenger miles for the month, while available seat miles increased to 1.99 billion.

Passenger boardings for June totaled 3.1 million, a 10.1 percent increase over June 2006.

Systemwide, SkyWest Inc. serves approximately 240 cities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, with approximately 2,714 daily departures.

SkyWest stock fell 15 cents Monday to close at $23.80 per share on Nasdaq. During the past year, the price has ranged from $21.90 to $28.60.
