An Eagle Mountain man is facing possible federal prison time after the computer he took in for repairs was discovered to have child pornography on its hard drive, authorities say.

Federal prosecutors charged the man Thursday with one count of receipt and possession of child pornography when an American Fork computer repair technician discovered images of minors engaging in sexual acts with adults on the computer's hard drive. The man first confirmed with the business that he was the only one who had control of the computer before the technician contacted police.

A software scan of the computer found both images and videos involving children. Upon questioning, the man told law enforcement officers that he had an attraction to females as young as 4 years old. He also admitted to an addiction to child pornography and said he had sexually fondled three female children over the past several years.

Prosecutors said if convicted, the man faces a mandatory sentence of 15 years in prison.
