A transcript of the prank call by a 13-year-old Tennessee boy to the LDS Missionary Training Center in Provo. The boy was placed in juvenile detention where he could remain for up to three years.

Call taker: Hi, this is Jared. Thank you for calling for your free Book of Mormon from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Can I please have your telephone number first?

Boy: (Gives fake phone number, name, age and address) I just wanted to talk to somebody and tell you that my mother died, and I really need God in my life.

Call taker: The Book of Mormon is definitely a good way to find God.

Boy: Oh, my God, thank you so much. ... I shot my mom.

Call taker: OK, what was the address?

Boy: Dead!

Call taker: Hello?

Boy: Hello.

Call taker: Hello? What was the address?

Boy: Don't call the cops.

Call taker: I won't.
