SOFTBALL: Coach Amy Hogue has announced the hiring of Adrian Gregory and Tracee Withers as her assistant coaches. Gregory comes to Utah from the New England Riptide of the National Pro Fastpitch League, while Withers just completed a playing career at BYU.

BYU

SOCCER: The Cougars will face a familiar foe tonight — the Ogden Outlaws (5-5-2).

This is the third meeting of the 2007 season. The first time the teams met, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The Cougars beat Ogden 6-2 on July 4.

BYU (10-1-1) clinched a spot in the 2007 PDL playoffs after winning its game last weekend against the Spokane Spiders in Washington.

Today's game is at BYU's South Field and will start at 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on BYU-TV and KBYU.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Prices are $6 for adults and $5 for children and students.

GYMNASTICS: BYU has announced the signings of Maddie Johnson and Jessica Villegas to national letters of intent for the 2008 season. Both join the Cougars after highly successful club careers as Level 10 competitors. Johnson, from Park City, trained at All- American Gymnastics in Lindon. Villegas, a native of Gilbert, Ariz., trained at Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics in Phoenix.

Utah Valley

VOLLEYBALL: Head coach Sam Atoa has announced the upcoming 2007 volleyball schedule and the hiring of two new assistant coaches. Lacee Koelliker, who has spent the past four seasons as a player for Atoa, and Scott Lee are the new Wolverine assistants. The Wolverines' season begins at home against Wyoming on Aug. 24.
