Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson will launch Local First Utah's Discover Local West Salt Lake City campaign at today's People's Market.

The market, which runs every Sunday through the summer from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jordan Park, 1060 S. 900 West, is an ideal place to showcase the diversity of businesses the city's west side has to offer, organizers say.

The campaign's launch will be from 11 a.m. to noon.

It will aim to encourage residents to patronize locally run businesses on the city's west side and to let people from other parts of the city — and elsewhere in the valley — see just what the west side has to offer.

In addition to the campaign kickoff, today's market will feature fresh produce, arts and crafts, prepared food for sale, music, games, raffles and more.
