OREM Fire crews battled a fire the size of a football field in Orem Friday morning.
The brush-fire blaze began around 9:30 a.m. near 1219 S. 1840 West in Orem and burned for about 20 minutes before it was extinguished, said Orem Fire Capt. Steve Allred.
Crews accessed part of the fire through the backside of the Links at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course, 700 South Sleepy Ridge Drive.
Flames flicked close to a building but nothing was directly threatened, thanks to winds blowing the other direction, Allred said.
Although the fire was controlled in 20 minutes mop-up efforts continued till about 11 a.m., Allred said.
