Question: When I was a kid, I remember watching a show called "December Bride" on TV. There are so many shows out there in reruns, but you never see that one. Is it on DVD?

Answer: "December Bride," which ran on CBS from 1954 until 1959, benefited a great deal from following "I Love Lucy" on the Monday night schedule. It was a kind of old folks' "I Love Lucy," dealing with the escapades of Lily Ruskin (Spring Byington) and Hilda Crocker (Verna Felton). Lily lived with daughter Ruth (Frances Rafferty) and son-in-law Matt (Dean Miller), and her efforts to help them often ended in Lucy-like complications. Harry Morgan played next-door neighbor Pete, who was always referring to his unseen wife, Gladys. His character was spun off into the sitcom "Pete and Gladys," with Cara Williams in the co-title role. That show ran on CBS from 1960 until 1962. "December Bride" is not on DVD.

Question: We have several seasons of "The Nanny" on DVD, but we can never figure out one of the lines in the theme song. It goes like this: "Father finds her beguiling / Watch out, C.C. / The kids are actually smiling / ????" Can you help?

Answer: The missing phrase is "such joie de vivre," which is pronounced "joy de vree" and is French for "joy of living," as in "happy life" or, in this context, "we're so glad we have a nanny with a heavy Bronx accent."
