After a two-day closure, both Blackhawk campground in Payson Canyon and Tinney Flat campground in Santaquin Canyon were reopened Thursday by the U.S. Forest Service.
Thursday morning, a bear known for rummaging through a campsite Dumpster was caught and relocated to another area, farther away from humans.
The Blackhawk campground has been closed twice in the last month as forest officials and the Division of Wildlife Resources attempted to catch the animal.
Another bear has been frequenting Tinney Flat campground while foraging for food, but no signs of the bear have been found over the past few days.
Forest officials have rescinded the closure of both campgrounds, which will reopen today.
Forest officials continue to warn visitors not to eat or cook food near sleeping areas, nor feed bears by leaving food or garbage in open areas that are accessible to the animals.
