Records should be open

What are they hiding? Provo School District Superintendent Randy Merrill is creating obstacles in the way of Sandy Packard's attempt to audit how the school district's elementary, middle and high schools receive and spend money. I applaud Packard for her efforts to see that money is properly spent and accounted for. I wish other Board of Education members throughout the state would similarly independently review their district's handling of money.

Financial records should be freely and readily available for inspection.
