Freedom Festival events

  • Historic Home Tour through Wednesday. Self-guided tour of buildings listed on the local and national historic registers. Guidebooks available at the Utah Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, 111 S. University Ave.; the Provo City Library at Academy Square, 550 N. University Ave.; the Provo City Utilities Building, 251 W. 800 North; the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce in the Historic County Courthouse, Suite 215; and Los Hermanos, 10 W. Center. Free.

  • Patriotic Service, 7 p.m. today in the McKay Events Center, Utah Valley State College, 1200 S. University Parkway, Orem. First-come, first-served seating. Guest speaker is Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone, emeritus general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Free.

  • Family Miniature Golf and Barbecue, Monday, 5-9 p.m. at Cascade Golf Center, 1313 E. 800 North, Orem. Cost: $35 per family up to six. Enjoy a round of golf and a hamburger. Reservations required. Call 225-6677.

  • Freedom Jam/Family Basketball Blast, Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Open Court, 4425 N. Thanksgiving Way, Lehi. For registration information call 768-4000.

  • Freedom Days. Monday noon to 10 p.m. is Family Day with local entertainment, food and family activities provided; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. is Freedom Day, a day to celebrate diversity and gratitude for freedoms; Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. is centered on America's birthday. Activities will be set up at Center Street and University Avenue to 200 W. Center at Tabernacle Square, at the County Courthouse and in the surrounding areas.

  • Colonial Days at the Crandall Historical Printing Museum, 275 E. Center, Provo. Monday from 1-10 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Includes an opportunity to see a rare 1823 copy of the Declaration of Independence. Visit a colonial encampment, visit with a descendant of Pocahontas. Free.

  • Children's Art show, through July 28 (except July Fourth), at the Health and Justice Building, 151 S. University Ave., Provo. Free.

  • Fine Art Exhibit through July 30, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Coleman Studios, 117 N. University Ave., Provo. Free.

  • Balloon Fest featuring top pilots and balloons from around the nation, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 a.m. at Fox Field, 1100 N. Freedom Blvd., Provo. Free.

  • Kiwanis Club breakfast in the southwest corner of Fox Field, Wednesday from 7-9 a.m. Cost: $5/$2.50 children under 12.
