2007 Data Book on Poverty highlights

• Utah's poverty rate has risen from 9.4 percent in 2000 to 10.2 percent in 2005.

• Utah's unemployment rate is 2.9 percent.

• Nearly 14 percent of Utahns have no net worth.

• Utahns spend an average of $1,807 on utility bills each year.

• One-third of all Utah schoolchildren receive free or reduced-price lunch.
