The Jazz on Friday made qualifying offers to now-restricted free agents C.J. Miles and Dee Brown.

The moves mean the Jazz retain the right to match any offers Miles or Brown should receive when the NBA's free-agency signing period opens Sunday.

Both were second-round draft choices. Miles, a sparingly used shooting guard, was selected in 2005 straight out of his Dallas high school. Brown, a starter on the University of Illinois' 2005 NCAA runner-up team, was Utah's No. 3 point guard last season.

The Jazz's other free agent, BYU product and No. 3 center Rafael Araujo, will be unrestricted when the market opens.
