Make sure to build fires in a pit with rocks, away from overhanging branches, dry grass and leaves.
Always have a bucket of water and shovel nearby.
Always have adult supervision and never leave a fire unattended.
Off-road vehicles:
Don't park in or drive through dry grass.
Carry a shovel and extinguisher in your vehicle.
Watch for flying sparks from vehicles and machinery.
Fireworks:
Use only legal fireworks and only in safe areas away from vegetation.
If you've purchased fireworks outside Utah, they probably are illegal.
There is a statewide ban on using fireworks on all Bureau of Land Management land.
Always read the directions.
Always have adult supervision.
Never use fireworks near dry grass or other flammable materials.
