Huntsman daughter suffers embolism
Huntsman canceled a trip to Las Vegas and Reno, Nev., where he had planned to campaign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Mary Anne Huntsman was complaining of chest pains Saturday and was diagnosed with an acute pulmonary embolism, which is a blockage of the artery that leads to the lungs.
"It's a dangerous thing. We're glad they found it as early as they did," said the governor's spokeswoman, Lisa Roskelley.
The daughter is expected to remain in the hospital until Thursday. There was no obvious cause of the embolism and no family history of the problem, Roskelley said.
Mary Anne Huntsman studies at the Manhattan School of Music and is home for the summer.
On May 28, the governor's son, Jon Huntsman III, broke a leg in a motorcycle crash.
