GREEN RIVER, Emery County A motorcyclist was critically injured when an impatient driver hit him head-on Saturday as the driver tried to pass a long line of cars on a two-lane highway.
The accident happened at approximately 2:20 p.m. on U.S. 6 near Green River, Utah Highway Patrol trooper Preston Raban said.
A motorist "must have been tired of following behind people" and moved into the oncoming traffic lane to pass a long line of cars, Raban said. After rounding a corner near mile marker 291, the vehicle slammed head-first into a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was flown to a hospital in Salt Lake City, Raban said.
"It's not looking good," Raban said Saturday. "They don't know that he'll make it through the night."
