INDIANAPOLIS — Her collegiate career is over but Lindsey Anderson's professional running career is just beginning and is off to a great start.

The former Weber State track star began her professional career by finishing third in the steeplechase Saturday at the AT&T United States Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

By finishing in third place she qualified to be part of the U.S. national team and will

represent the United States at the World Games later this year.

The Morgan native finished third overall in the 3,000-meter race. She posted a time of 9:40.74, the second-best time her career.

Anderson is already automatically qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the steeplechase next year. The World Games will be held in late August in Osaka, Japan.

Also, University of Utah hurdler Amanda Feigt also competed in Indianapolis, clocking the hurdles event in 1:00.54. Feigt did not qualify for the finals.
