LOGAN (AP) Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is taking a brief break from campaigning in the key primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire for a quick stop in Utah this weekend.
Romney is scheduled to attend a fund-raiser luncheon today for up to 200 people.
"Utah as a whole has been incredibly helpful to my father's campaign," said Josh Romney, the candidate's son.
Romney, the former head of the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee, also attended a fund-raiser in Logan last summer.
The lunch will be held at the home of Jim Laub, chief executive officer of Cache Valley Electric. Laub said the $1,000-a-plate lunch is not by invitation only.
"He has a lot of great supporters in the state of Utah and Logan especially," Laub said. "It's not very often during the campaign cycle that a person of that stature comes to Logan."
