Today (7 a.m., Ch. 5) and Dateline (9 p.m., Ch. 5): The morning show features parts of Matt Lauer's interview with Princes William and Henry; the prime-time show devotes an entire hour to the chat. And it's probably only a coincidence that NBC will air the princes' benefit concert to honor their mother's memory next month.

Deal or No Deal (7 p.m., Ch. 5): Howie Mandel hosts.

The Closer (7 and 10 p.m., TNT): In the third season premiere, budget cuts force Brenda to choose between giving up one of her team to another unit or forcing one of them into early retirement.

Heartland (8 p.m., TNT): Treat Williams played a doctor in "Everwood," and he's back as a Dr. Grant in this new show — but this is not gentle family drama, it's a hard-edged medical/action show. In the premiere, Grant tries to save the life of a teenage girl in need of a new heart.

Simon Schama's Power of Art (8 and 9 p.m., Ch. 7): A look at the works of van Gogh ("Wheatfield with Crows") and Picasso ("Guernica").

How I Met Your Mother (8:30 p.m., Ch. 2): Barney meets the man he believes is his father — Bob Barker.

Big Love (10 p.m., HBO): The family forgets Nicki's anniversary.
