KENNETH BREWER'S last book, "Whale Song: A Poet's Journey into Cancer," has been published posthumously by Dream Garden Press. ALEX CALDIERO, SARA CALDIERO, MELISSA BOND, JEAN HOWARD, SANDY ANDERSON and ANDY HOFFMAN will read their favorite Brewer poems.
BRANDON MULL, author of "Fablehaven" and "Fablehaven: Rise of the Evening Star," will sign copies of his books, Thursday, 6 p.m., Barnes and Noble, 10180 S. State, Sandy.
ROBERT ADLER, U. law professor and author of "Restoring Colorado River Ecosystems: A Troubled Sense of Immensity," will read from and sign copies of his book, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Robber's Roost Bookstore, Torrey.
22nd ANNUAL WRITERS@WORK CONFERENCE will be held June 18-22 at Westminster College. Among noted writers who will teach sessions are ABBY FREUCHT, author of five novels; CHRIS COKINOS, poet, critic and essayist; OLENA KALYTIAK DAVIS, poet; and DAVID KRANES, novelist and playwright.
