Utility workers are busy restoring electric power

Repair crews were expected to be busy restoring electric power to Salt Lake Valley east- bench residents throughout the night and into Saturday morning after a wet snow storm caused tree limbs to bend or fall into power lines.

Widespread outages affected east-bench areas of Salt Lake and south Davis County early Friday morning. As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, an estimated 3,000 customers were still without power.Utah Power brought line crews from Utah County and Ogden areas to assist Salt Lake personnel. Crews will continue working until service is restored to all customers.

Weather forecasts predict another snow storm Friday night and into Saturday morning, prompting Utah Power to put employees on standby in case they are needed again.
