A touch of global love

A shoebox can become a treasure chest. These toys and hygiene items are part of a gift package to be sent to a child in a war-torn, Third World country as part of Operation Christmas Child. The project, sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, hopes to collect more than 2 million hope- and love-filled shoeboxes by the end of the month. Since it began in 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered more than 3.5 million Christmas gifts, packed in shoeboxes, to children in war-torn and crisis areas around the globe.
