SPRINGVILLE An evening of music is scheduled tonight at Spring Acres Arts Park in Springville.
This free musical selection is part of Art City Days, Springville's annual summer celebration. The featured artist for the evening is Jenny Oaks Baker, a violinist who grew up in Utah.
Baker began studying the Suzuki Method of violin at age 4, debuting as a soloist at age 8 and continued on to become a first chair violinist for the National Symphony Orchestra.
Baker will perform at the opening, mid-way point and close of the concert, with other local musicians taking the stage as well.
According to her Web site, Baker has performed as a soloist at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center and the Library of Congress and as a guest soloist with the National Symphony, the Jerusalem Symphony and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Baker has released six CDs since 1998 with a new Christmas CD, "O Holy Night," due out this fall.
