CEDAR CITY — A Minersville man was injured when he was hit by a slow-moving train while he was working at a Union Pacific rail yard.

Police said the 52-year-old man was loading a box car onto a train Friday when he fell off the top of the box car and under the wheels.

"He ended up under the wheels of the train," Cedar City Police Sgt. Jerry Womack said. "It looked like both of his lower legs were damaged pretty bad."

The man was flown to a Salt Lake hospital.
