He didn't lash out at already-vacationing teammates, but Deron Williams did have a few interesting things to say as the Utah Jazz cleaned out their lockers last Thursday after being eliminated in the Western Conference finals.

Here's what Williams had to say on ...

Suddenly being a hot item on national sports talk: "I don't watch "SportsCenter" that often or anything like that. I'm just happy with where our team has gone, and I'm happy that I could help be a big part of that."

What the mostly young Jazz learned from their unexpected playoff run: "We had a great season. We're young and a lot of (us played in) our first playoffs. With the experience we had this year we were beat. We can use that next year. We know what it takes now that we've been through it a little bit. We've just got to take that next step."

What he hopes Jazz add over the offseason: "We have a few pieces missing, a few things we can add to the team. We have great coaches. We have our nucleus. We just need to add a few pieces to get it done. We need some more outside shooting, 3-point shooters, maybe a shot-blocking big man."

What he thinks about the Spurs: "You just look at how they handle themselves, how they come out and play every night, how they play for each other, play with each other. It's something we can learn from. How they pass the ball, how they share the ball. They really don't care who gets the glory as long as they're winning. That's all that matters."

Being invited to participate with USA Basketball this summer: "It's going to be great. Hopefully, I can make that team. I've played USA Basketball (juniors) before. This is now the highest level. I look forward to it. It's going to be a challenge. It's going to be fun playing with the guys I'm playing with, learning from the great coaches I'm going to be around. I'm just going to try to take all of that in and give it my all."
