Kody, a black lab, is an enthusiastic and energetic 3-year-old male. He's bouncy sometimes and loves to play fetch but also has his mellow moments. He's had some training already: He knows how to sit and lie down on command. His adoption fee is $95.

Danielle is a terrific tabby who is adorable and affectionate. She's only a year old and is playful and friendly. Danielle is very social with people and doesn't seem to mind other cats. Her discounted adoption fee will be $55.

The adoption fee for Danielle, as well as for any of the other fantastic felines, is discounted $10 for National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, so $55 covers their first vaccinations, a microchip implant, a health exam from a veterinarian, a collar, ID tag and cardboard cat carrier, and a bag of food. And if you adopt Danielle along with one of her other fabulous feline friends, you'll only pay the regular adoption fee of $65 once. Don't miss this opportunity to bring a new cat or kitten or two into the family, and this time of year the shelter has lots to choose from. Cuddly Kody, darling Danielle and all of their pals are waiting to meet you at Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W. 3900 South, or call 269-7499.
